This has been one of my favorites for a VERY long time.
This is definitely a new favorite :)

Day 30 - A Picture

It's the last day! I think this little challenged actually challenged me! I've enjoyed it and I hope you have too. Now I have to think of my own topics =/ lol.

Day 30 - a picture...a picture of what? That's just entirely to board for me. I had a very hard time thinking of what kind of picture I'd want to use. Just ONE! I decided that I need to quit being so indecisive. Of course it didn't take hold until the last day. My apologizes.

Anyways - I chose this picture:

Kind of a random picture maybe but I have my reasons.

First - it's by Ansel Adams. One of my favorite photographers. I could only dream to see the sites he's seen. In my opinion he really captures nature at it's finest. Some of the areas he's taken pictures at look as though they've been undisturbed for many years and shows the true nature of Mother Nature - what she can really do if we'd stop destroying her. I think my only wish would be that he'd have more color pictures...I suppose the black and white just makes me want to go see it for myself more!

Second reason - a tree can represents many things. Life, family, opportunity, strength/endurance, and I'm sure that's not even the tip of the iceberg if you really thought about it.
  • Life - most trees live in places of seasons - where their leaves are shedding, given back to the Earth, and regrown through an amazing intricate process. Life can go along with the strength area of the representations as well. Trees can live for an incredibly long amount of time some can live thousands of years! Trees have seen more things than anything else on the planet - they've made it through ice ages, droughts, humans, etc. It inspires you to live your life to the absolutely fullest. See as much as the trees have seen :)
  • Family - hello! The family tree! For many people family is everything, and even for those who aren't close with theirs a family tree and connection still exist. It's explains the bonds that bind you as family. A family tree really can make you proud of where you came from, and appreciate all those who have come before you.
  • Finally opportunity. Many people say paths, but I say path & branch can be pretty interchangeable when it comes to opportunity. Just like tree branches we all choice a slightly different direction to grow, yet we are all connected and cross other branches now and then. We are constantly making choices as to which branch we want to follow. Probably a lot more than people realize, including myself.

Day 29 - Wishes

1) I wish October would come a little quicker ;)  You all know why...

2) I wish that my house would do it's own cleaning. Hey a girl can dream can't she...

3) I wish that Limited would hire me as an associate. I love my job..I want it to be permanent

Day 28-Something that stresses you out

Something that stresses me out...hmm...good question. I suppose I have more than one major stress-or. Immediately I have things popping into my mind. I am someone who does not manage stress the best. Sometimes I snap at people because I'm grumpy, a lot of the time however I just hold it all in. Which can be just as worse as snapping sometimes.

1) Bad drivers. I shouldn't even get myself started on this topic but I really don't understand why driving is so difficult for some people. It's a long list of rules...follow them...not hard. I'd have to say I have a pretty bad lead foot but overall I'm a good driver. It's those people who are driving like 50 mph on 270 that drive me crazy, you are going to end up killing someone, if you can't drive fast do not get on a major highway! DUH! Or those people who like to think their way is the right away at all times. WRONG! If the cars are on your side of the road you don't have a right away - even if you try to hurry and speed up to miss me! Even better...parking! COME ON! There are lines for a reason kids! Maybe this is just more of an annoyance but I get stressed out driving a lot. It's not even because I'm scared but because I'm really annoyed with the idiot in front of me.

Is it really that difficult to park?
I may need to make myself one of these signs.
Looking at this picture I get anxiety!
2) Being late. I can't stand being late to anything. I've always been that person who is 15 mins early to everything. If you're on time you're late..that's my motto :) However, when I'm running late, or you are holding me up I get very impatient. I start to get my anxiety feeling and I start to stress. Just ask Kevin. I will say that I do believe I am getting better about this. Being patient and not stressing about being a little later than what I thought we'd be but I'm not quite there yet. I will never be someone who runs late anyways - I think it's rude. I understand sometimes things happen but when you are constantly the one running behind you probably should start getting ready earlier...just saying..

3) As of right now...wedding planning! It was more so earlier on when I was picking the bigger things but there are still many many little things that need to get done. I'm more worried that I'm just going to total forget to do something. Everything takes so much time to do - the research, meeting set up, time at those meetings, decisions that need made by a certain time, finding time for both Kev and I get things done, etc. I'm very excited for October. I probably shouldn't stress because I know I'm ahead of the game for October but all the same it's things I'd rather get done while I can than have to worry about it last minute.
Checklist - it's not mine but I have one!
221 until October 1st :)
4) The grocery store. I'm guessing it has more to do with the crowd at the store but I really cannot stand going. Maybe I just have a problem with people in general lol. It's kind of like the driving thing. People standing in the middle of the aisle, people with their screaming children they refuse to remove from the store but threaten to beat them then & there (appropriate), or those lovely people who like ram into your cart turning a corner and don't say a word (it's fine lady just ram into my cart...no biggy). It goes back to the simplicity. I understand you want to look for the best price/deal/discount I do to but I don't need to get in everyone's way to do it. Really you know what you like and what you don't, you know what brand you are going to buy (more than likely you do) just pick it up and leave already. No need to linger in that aisle in that spot for 20 minutes contemplating which type of canned green beans is the cheapest...
No explanation needed...
Ugh - the lines!

Day 27-Pets

I'm such an animal lover that I feel like I'll always have a pet in my house. Currently in our house we have two animals. First, Puff - the Bearded Dragon. He was the first of our two and ya either love him, or hate him (cough cough L.M.H.)  Most people are initially freaked out by him, and rightfully so. I understand he looks like a little monster (he's got a creepy twinkle in his eye), but he's harmless. When we bought him he was smaller than the size of my hand. Now - nose to the tip of his tail is as long as Kevin's torso length - shoulders to hips.  He's quite long, but he's lazy.  I got him about 4 years ago - in November for my birthday. He's been a good first pet for me to take on. He needed much more care when he was younger. As Bearded Dragons get older they start to take on the instincts that they would if they were at home in the desert. They get lazy - require quite a bit of heat for about 10 - 12 hours a day, and then somewhere warm and safe to snuggle up at night. He hibernates somewhat in the winter as well. He's mainly a vegetarian now eating peas, carrots, and corn. When he was younger he mostly ate crickets. Sometime he did and still does get meal worms. They are a good source of fat for a Bearded Dragon. He does love to explore when he gets the time (aka whenever Gunner, our second pet isn't home). Some people may not like him but I love Puff.
Good ole Puff. He's about 2 years old here - he's about 4 now.

Then there is the second baby lol. He definitely gets a bit more attention than poor Puff but he's a little bigger and a bit more cuddly than Puff. You know who I'm talking about...Gunner! He's such a goofy dog and I imagine that if he could talk he'd sound like a little hill billy. He's a boxer/coonhound mix and you can definitely tell. His big ole floppy ears and big innocent looking eyes (don't let him fool ya) will just melt your heart. His head and tail are those of a coonhound. His body on the other hand is quite sturdy and thick like a boxer. Both of the personalities come out as well. His nose is constantly to the ground or annoyingly your pants or coat (he'll sniff you to death if you let him). He uses his paws like hands and jumps like a boxer though. He's got his wild moments where he needs to burn off some steam so we'll play with him or take him to the dog park. And other times he's the lazist thing in the entire world. He's not the one to move in bed if you are snuggling you are. He gives a very distinctive sigh/grunt noise when you are disturbing his slumber with your movements. It's really crazy how much an animal can become part of the family. What you don't realize is that a dog has his own personality. It's really not as simple as "he's a dog, he's an animal". I mean say he is he needs disciplined like an animal or else you could have a problem on your hands, but at the same time you love them like a person, like a true human member of the family. Gunner is definitely a spoiled little dog, but I definitely would never trade him for the world. Crazy pup has a lot to learn, and I have a feeling we are going to learn a lot from him. He's a dog that takes dang near anything without really being annoyed, loyal until the end. He'd never hurt a fly and he'll give you the goofiest little face like he knows when you need the smile :)

As if he were a real child I believe he gets embarrassed of me. Lol.
He's got a nicer, bigger bed than some people do.
Yeah - he looks innocent right...
He loves to play. He loves to play in the snow even more.
We think he's so handsome.
Playing some football.

Day 26-Picture of your family

Family has started taking on a whole new meaning for me lately. I think it's because in less than 8 months I'll be getting married. Joining two families together. It's a really great experience that I've enjoyed having and I'm pretty excited to continue to get to know the people on Kevin's side of the family better. On top of watching my side of the family continue to grow.

Day 24-Something you've learned

I'm leaving this one up to Alanis Morissette :)

I recommend getting your heart trampled on to anyone
I recommend walking around naked in your living room
Swallow it down (what a jagged little pill)
It feels so good (swimming in your stomach)
Wait until the dust settles

You live you learn

You love you learn
You cry you learn
You lose you learn
You bleed you learn
You scream you learn

I recommend biting off more then you can chew to anyone

I certainly do
I recommend sticking your foot in your mouth at any time
Feel free
Throw it down (the caution blocks you from the wind)
Hold it up (to the rays)
You wait and see when the smoke clears

You live you learn

You love you learn
You cry you learn
You lose you learn
You bleed you learn
You scream you learn

Wear it out (the way a three-year-old would do)

Melt it down (you're gonna have to eventually anyway)
The fire trucks are coming up around the bend

You live you learn

You love you learn
You cry you learn
You lose you learn
You bleed you learn
You scream you learn

You grieve you learn

You choke you learn
You laugh you learn
You choose you learn
You pray you learn
You ask you learn
You live you learn

Day 23-Favorite vacation

I absolutely love vacation. I suppose that goes right along with the fact that you know I love to travel.

I think my favorite vacation spot is a place I've been going since I was a very little girl. I think it's more of the sentimental piece of me, because I've been a ton of places but this is the one that always comes into my head first :) West Palm Beach, Florida! My grandparents have had a condo there since before I was born. It was the first place I traveled to (other than Michigan), and the first place I went without my parents (my grandpa got me). We still go back when we can and it's the first place I've taken vacation with a boyfriend(Kevin!). A lot of memories were made there over the years that we went. It's a very relaxing place and the weather is always so nice when we are there. The most we do during the day is walk the beach and up to the bar for some food & drinks! Night time is usually full of food & fun...catch phrase is a must! We just have a good time together :)
the beach
The cousins are usually there whenever we are too!

Day 22-Favorite city

Oh this is a tricky one indeed! As you've all read before I've been pretty lucky to have had some awesome traveling experiences, some with friends and some with family! I hope to have many more all over the world. When it comes down to my favorites city (or should I say cities). I've narrowed it down to three. All for very different reasons - as you'll soon understand.

First - Chicago (aka the Windy City)
Kevin and I just traveled there this last weekend and I was reminded of how much I enjoy that city. Surprisingly, even in this cold weather! We went quite a few times from middle school through high school. It was by far the closet big city around us, and one of the times was a school field trip! The city has such character and history, and really it's the closest city to the home mid west feeling that I have ever been too. There is so much to do yet still has the weather of Ohio (Ok a little colder & winder, duh) but you know what I mean)!

Chi-Town!
Of course...Cloud Gate or rather The Bean
Navy Pier
The Field Museum & Shedd Aquarium
Who can forget Chicago Style pizza!
Lake Michigan.

Second - Paris (aka the La Ville-Lumière or The City of Light). Of all the European countries and cities I've been to Paris has been my favorite. Talk about history! That city is just bursting at the seams with amazing historical stories, incredible architecture, inspiring atmosphere, and a creative, elegant, you can even call it snobbish culture. I want to go back so badly now that I'm a little older then when I first went. I feel like I would enjoy it even more! If you ever get the chance to go to this city take it! It will absolutely be worth your while - you may not even want to come back home if you are anything like me!
History of the Eiffel Tower

At night - it starts to twinkle!
The Louvre - to see Mona Lisa smile :)
Cannot forget Notre Dame

Champs-Élysées and the finish of Le Tour de France.

There are so many castles!
Third - is Maui, Hawaii. I was  in 8th grade when we went so my memory isn't as fresh on this city as much as the other two. However, I remember how beautiful is was! It was that picturesque Hawaii that you always think about. A postcard picture. It's like the colors popped out more than at home. Which is probably true. I love anywhere warm too! I do have a dream to move somewhere with no winter. Yes  I'll miss the LOOK of snow but I can go on skiing vacations or something. lol. Anyways - this is just a town of beauty for me. I'm not sure how much history there is to it - I mean of course there is a history, I just have no idea what it is. It's that paradise that everyone wants to stay in forever (if only!). I think the coolest thing about Maui is that on different parts of the island you will find a totally different habitat - beaches, jungles, desert/volcanoes - there is so much to do and see on just one island! Kevin and I are planning to take our honeymoon in Hawaii and I believe this is an island we are planning to visit. You have no idea how excited I am :)
Beach side
Jungle
Volcanoes/Dry side
One of their major crops - Sugar Cane.
