Hubs is another year older...

Kevin is truly my best friend.
He has the biggest heart you'll ever find.
He can make me laugh like no one else in this world.

 

 
He's always there for me and is supportive.
Really he is there for anyone that needs him!

Today marks one year older and one year wiser.
25 brought us all kind of knowledged...
One year of marriage.
One more year of being together.

One more year of ups, downs, and learnings.
One year that has made me love you even more.

I couldn't ask for anyone better to share my life with.
I am blessed to call you mine!

Birthday Coffee Talk

    1. When is your birthday? How old will you be? What is your sign?

My birthday is November 13th (aka 5 days whoop whoop)

I'll be 26 years young :)

sometimes I feel super old, but I know I am not.

A Scorpio and most of you know that I am the Scorpio personality to a T! 
It's a little unreal sometimes. 

2. What's the BEST birthday gift you've ever gotten? What is the WORST gift?

Best Gift:
Gunner! 

Kev and I had been talking about getting a dog for a while.
So we did some searching on Pet Finder...
 which is really difficult to look through. I wanted ever dog I think!

I sent Kev a few dogs that I thought were precious and met our "standards"...
things like we wanted it to be potty trained, all shots taken care of, neutered/spayed, etc. 
One of them was AJ, aka Gunner
we changed his name. 
Kev went to look at Gunner and fell in love.
He brought him home for me as a surprise bday present and it's been true love ever since :)

Worst Gift:

I honestly don't know the worst gift.
I don't think I got anything that I really hated.
I probably considered it the end of the world if I got like socks or something when I was little.
 So I can go with that...
or maybe the alcohol poisoning, that I am pretty sure was real, after my 21st. lol. Happy Birthday to me =/

  3. Do you like having birthday parties for yourself? What about surprise birthday parties? 

I do like having birthday parties but anymore it's never just for me since Kev is less then 24 hours older than me.
Since we've been together we've shared parties :) 

I've never really had a surprise party.
I am not sure how I would feel about that since I'm not one for surprises but I wouldn't be against it I suppose.

  
4. What is your dream birthday party bash??? 

Um...I don't really have a dream birthday bash per say. 

I wouldn't mind doing a group vaca sometime for Kev and I's bday's but that's not a bash.

My mom's home made Carrot Cake! 

My dad gets one made for his bday every year and so do I :)

Ya know I've had a hard time figuring out things I want for presents.
I suppose anymore if you want to know what I want, look at my pinterest account!

I currently have some of them but not all.

A day in family history...

So thanks to a lovely little flu bug I wasn't able to enjoy or celebrate an important day in family history this weekend. 

It's an epic day for us. 

It was the birth of my seester. 

I'm sure it was pretty evident that as soon as my sister joined this world our lives were going to change. 

For the better. 

 

She's a free spirit, and really we couldn't be more different.

Yet, at times we couldn't be more alike.

Any of you have that problem with your siblings?

She's caring and has always have a big ole sentimental heart. 

She loves all things animals, especially dogs!

She can make anyone laugh with her hilarious impressions and "characters".

She dances, and loves to put on little skits. 

She's a shopaholic just like the rest of the women in the family, but she's got that eye for sparkle.

Hence her nickname of Sparkle Plenty.

There is nothing dull or plain in the Julia's world.

I should count my blessings since that means she finds me interesting enough to keep me in it.

I know I don't tell her as often as I should but she is a great sister, and a good friend.

My Best Friend's Birthday :)

Today is my best friends birthday. 

 

I think we all have those friends that feel more like siblings. 

You know you will be life long friends!

That would easily describe Danielle and I. 

It was one of those friendships that just clicked.

Danielle and I were in the same sorority.

Kev and Jason were in the same frat.

Hanging out together was easy.

Growing as close as we have was even easier.

I've had some of the best moments with her.

Of course, there are many more to come :)

 

She's an amazing wife to Jason and a fur baby mama to Hannah. 

She's a devoted family girl overall!

She loves laughing, and enjoys a good comedy. 

She's classic both in style and even in nature (she's very lady like).

Danielle keeps me grounded a bit. 

Calms me down in moments of rants.

And actually most of the time joins in with me which really is a lot better than being calmed down.

Both our husbands hate that...just ask them!

I think sometimes I can bring out a bit of fire in her since I get riled up so easily.  

Danielle is a sweet person with a big heart and a quick wit. 

Like me she can be emotional.

 We enjoy our TV shows, and shopping is our forte.

Danielle's ambition really exceeds many people I know and is something I greatly admire. 

 I really couldn't ask for a better best friend.

Weekend Shennigans!

The hubs & I had successful 25th birthdays and an overall good weekend!

Friday night was our bday celebration at Dave & Busters!

 Kev's been itchin' to go for awhile and it's been...years...since I've been. There was even a first timer there (cough cough** Danielle) lol. It was a lot of fun, something that Kev and I both enjoy. Dinner was pretty good but the games were, of course, the best!

Bestest & First Timer!

My aim was for the tickets, Kev's was just for the games. So you could find me and the ladies over playing skee-ball or basketball or one of those wheels that you could get a 1000 tickets. Guess what, the first timer got the 1000 tickets! Bia!

This was one of my favorite things ever! We come around the corner to see where everyone is. They are taking up the whole line of racing cars! I couldn't even get them all in one pic! I love my friends!

Saturday was a bit more laxed. Some of the girls and I headed up to Tiffin for a friends baby shower. Jesse, said friend, is also my "big" in the sorority. For those of you who does not know what I mean, she's like my "mom" in the sorority. A little strange I know, nor do we act like real mothers lol. It was nice to get to see the group of girls, it doesn't happen often, unfortunately. Jesse got some good stuff for baby girl! I can't wait to meet her :)

That evening was spent on a date night for Kev and myself. We headed off to Ruth Chris where I immediately ate my weight in all this yummy, delisiciousness and even more quickly fell into a food coma! I'd never been there before so it was fun to go somewhere new. The food was great and I thought it was pretty cool, and slightly dangerous that they serve their food on 500 degree plates! I guess when they say "this plate is quite hot" they mean it :) And me being my lame self I did not get any pics of the meal! Blogger fail.

Sunday was a glorious day full of shopping at the outlets! You all know this because I've been mentioning it for a couple weeks. It was all it was cracked up to be, and even winder :) My goal was to look for others for some christmas gifts, but also look for our house. I did just that and got a little extra for myself & the hubs. A few more people off the Christmas list and a few more things to add to the home place! My favorite thing that I got while there was from Pottery Barn. It's a new bed spread and I got it at a really good price!

If you've never owned these...you must! Corningware Soup Mugs. They are amazing. Obvi it can be used for soup and has the handy dandy lid, which I love, but it's also good for things like dips because you can heat those up or put them in the fridge. The lid makes it nice to take to work! Overall great purchase. I already had 1, had to get some more :)

The Pit Mitt for the man! Used for turn things over on the grill and handling other hot pots/pans.

 Of course you can't forget that I did some shopping for myself. It was my birthday after all! 

Got this at J.Crew. Yep, rockin' it at work today :)

Banana Republic purch. It will be great for a casual day as well as with black pants to work!

I'm excited to wear this, I don't seem to have much luck when it comes to finding cute tops/dresses to go with leggings.

So I'd have to say it was a pretty great weekend. It was a great 25th birthday for sure!

Happy Birthday & Happy Adoption Day to my fur baby Gunner! We got him 2 years ago today. He was a birthday present for the husband. The society he came from told Kev that he was pretty close to a year old that day as well so we decide to make it his birthday too. He's enriched our lives in so many ways it's amazing. He's just a dog but he's our dog, we love him dearly. To top it off he's probably got one of the best personalities I've ever met. Yes, even as an animal. I knew I liked them better than most people lol.  We really do love the mutt, couldn't imagine life without him!

Happy early Birthday to the husband! As his bdays tomorrow and I don't blog on the weekends early birthday wishes are in order. There will also be a special post on Monday allll about the hubs :)
