Travel Tuesday Kauai

Helene in Between

For our honeymoon the hubs and I decided to go big or go home.
19 months of planning we knew we deserved to head somewhere nice, and warm!

We weren't sure where were going to go but we ended up lucking out on a few things through the process and it was quickly decided that Kauai would be the place.

When I say lucked out I mean we got a very generous offer when it came to accommodations and Kevin is the master of all travel and got us our tickets for half of what they'd normally be.
That's right, half.
He came busting in the bedroom at like 11:30PM one night and informed that I needed to get up, get the credit card, and we had to get our tickets right now!
I'm going to give him even more props by saying we have yet to pay even close to the normal price for flight tickets on any trip we've gone on together.
Anyone need a travel agent?

Anyways, bragging ova...

Kauai is a little slice of Heaven that we are hoping to go back to for years and years.
I would go so far as to say when it comes to be timeshare time, it will definitely be there.

After a year and half of being away my heart and even my soul longs to go back to the beautiful and wonderfully laid back island.

The trip was perfect.

Since Kevin is a mover and a shaker there wasn't much time spend laying around on the beach.
No worries ladies I got my hours in and a couple of them I didn't have to put in the effort of hiking 3 miles to beach just to lay out.

We did do a lot of hiking which was so much fun because everything there is so beautiful!
We also went to a luau, a helicopter tour, zip lining, and tubing down an old sugar cane plantation irrigation system!
It.was.amazing!
I really cannot wait to get back there and I wish everyone could experience a Hawaian vacation.
It has to be the real Heaven on Earth.

Ed & Jessy's Wedding

This weekend Kev and I went up to Michigan for my cousin Ed's wedding.

They were married up at our lake, Jessy's family is also from that area too! It worked out prefect that they could get married at a place they love. Literally right on it if you want to be technical.

I'll let the pictures do the talking :)

The groom & my cousin, Ed!

 Where the ceremony happened.
Isn't it beautiful?
They really couldn't have had a more perfect day for a wedding on the lake.
I love even more than this lake means so much to them individually as it does together as a couple.

 My aunt and uncle :)

My cousin Rachel.
How pretty is she?!

Don't you love the color combo.
It was a great color scheme for a late summer wedding.

They wrote their own vows. And they both did a really great job.
It was heartfelt, and personal.
Not sure there was a dry eye in the house.

 Mr. & Mrs. J!!

So I'm telling you guys right now this reception was something off a Pinterest board.
It was so cute!
I coudn't get enough.

 Again, those colors!
Love! Love! Love!

How cute was that little dessert table set up?

Cousin Joe, and the Best Man giving his speech.
He did a really great job and it's been awesome watching these two boys turn into great men.

 Maid of Honor speech.

They had a really great live band.
They played covers of songs.
The whole reception was up and dancing the entire time.

 My cousin, Nicole.

We all had such an amazing time.

I am so happy for Ed and Jessy, and I wish them nothing bu the absolute best.
I am so excited to watch their family grow, and enjoy more family celebrations with them!

Wedding: The Deets

Well folks this is the last wedding post I got for ya.

Of course I'm sure I'll use some of the photos as I love to relive the day through them.
Hopefully you've enjoyed them too :)

This will be more of an informational post.
In case you are interested in using or checking out any of these vendors.

The Where's:

Ceremony: St. Joseph's Cathedral

Ya get a pretty nice idea of what the room looks like in this picture :)
There will be another room shot below.

Beauty:

Make-Up: My sister :)
Seriously, if anyone would like to hire this little lady she is good. Contact me and we will see what we can do :)

Hair: Keisha
Love this girl.
I'm lucky enough to have a couple lovely girl friends that are hair stylist at Kenneth's!
She came to the room, which was awesome, and did everyone's hair.
She did a fantastic job!
Wanted to give you guys a closer look at Keisha, she's recently engaged! woo!

The Attire:

Dress: Watters: Escalante

If you haven't heard of this place you gotta check it out.
It's considered the only competitor of Kleinfeld's and it's here in Ohio!
Near Cincinnati to be exact - they call it bridal row.
Great selection. I even bought my jewelry and veil there.

Shoes: Stuart Weitzman: Chantelle

If you get the engagement ring there fellas they give you a good discount on wedding bands.

The Who's:

Florist: Bloomtastic
 Flowers in the church.

We used lots of candles as our centerpieces.
We both love candles and decided it was a pretty and cheaper idea than getting flowers for all the tables.
 The short centerpiece

 The tall centerpiece

DJ: Encore
Brandy and Sticky did such a good job of not getting the DJ in the background that this is the only picture that even remotely shows him!
However, these guys are some of the best DJ's you'll ever find.
The announcer was awesome, and the music was even better.

Photographer:  Brandy J. Photography
Yes, these beautiful people are Brandy and Sticky.
They do an amazing job, and they are so fun to work with!!!
We owe so much to them for giving us such great pictures to remember our day with!

 Photo booth: Shutterbooth

Last by certainly not least I have to give a TON of credit to our wedding planner Kate.
I know I say I did a lot and I owe a lot of people for the help....
Well I owe Kate like my life.
She did an amazing job helping Kev and I find all our vendors, go through all the contract, and sending us reminders when things were due, plus much much more!
What she did for the planning she did double the day of.
Not once was I asked a question about where anything should be, where someone was, what song should be played, etc.
Kate covered it all and then some!
She was our life line for this whole process.
People I'm telling you if you invest in anything for your wedding find a planner for at least the day of if not the whole planning part!
It makes a world of difference :)

Whew, that was a lot of info.
Hopefully you all stuck it out with me =/

Happy Thursday!
