Yosemite: Day 1

I think I should start by saying the Yosemite was probably my favorite part of this trip!

I wouldn't consider myself the outdoorsy type, not that I don't go outside or I'm not active, but Yosemite was easily one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

No picture you see will ever do the place justice.
It gives you a great idea, but when you are standing there with the massive trees and mountains, the bluest sky you've probably ever seen, and a nice cool breeze you would swear you were in Heaven.

Being the discount site junkie that I am I had found Kev and I a cabin deal for the Redwoods in Yosemite.
They rent out all different kinds of cabins, based on the number of people staying, some you can have pets in, some are more...rustic than others, etc.
Kev and I picked out this cute little studio cabin and it was perfect.
The scenery was even better.

The first day Kev and I decided to kind of take it easy since we knew we were going to attempt to do the Half Dome hike in a day.
So we headed for Mariposa Grove, where all the Redwoods & Sequiaos are.
It has to be one of my favorite places. The sight of the trees and the smell. It was amazing!

The Fallen Tunnel Tree.

You can barely even see Kev in there!

Kev clearing our path lol.

This tree is called Faithful Couple.
It's two trees that fused together.
We thought it appropriate to get a picture since it was our anniversary trip!

Next we decided to drive it a bit and hit up Tunnel View.
It's just what it says it is. It's a Tunney View to some of the bigger sights in the park.
The mountains: El Capitan, Half Dome, the Cathedrals.

We decided to keep going into Yosemite Valley to figure out where we would be starting out hike the next day!
It would be pitch black so the more we knew ahead of time the better.

Lastly we decided to catch the sunset at Glacier Point.
We realized that it wasn't the true sunset, but it was the sun going behind some mountains so it was casts some great shadows into the valley, where we had just come from, below.

Quite the view of Half Dome.

Happy Monday!

Perfect Weekend!

This weekend was perfect weekend.
It was a nice mixture of relaxing and productivity :)
Friday was spent with some of us going over to my friends, Lindz & Ross, new place.
It was a Mexican themed meal and per usual I ate entirely too much!
Laura, another friend if the bomb.com at all Mexican foods.
She ever so lovingly gave us this amazing margarita recipe that I must share!

~1 jug cran - strawberry juice.
We used cran-rasberry & I thought it was so good!
This is something to note as it seemed to quite difficult to find cran-strawberry juice around these parts
~1 orange juice concentrate
~1 limeade concentrate
~Tequila
~Lots of ice

The original recipe calls for half of everything and adding tequila to taste.
We did the whole thing of everything: juice, concentrates, and added tequila to taste.
Just make sure you have a large enough pitcher to accommodate for juice, and melting concentrates!
Could be very messy if you don't!

It's this recipe + tequila!

Saturday was spent lounging around.

I got to do some make up cuddling with Gunner :)
I think he was pretty comfy!

Kev was in my hometown hunting!
If anyone is interested he ended up getting a deer.

I went to Jason and Danielle's to hang out for awhile. Socialize and eat pretty much lol.
Then that evening was some more lounging around & watching the OSU game!

Sunday was a day o' productivity for me!
I did some deep cleaning in the kitchen.
It was greatly needed, and I've decided to tackle one room at a time until I've deep cleaned them all!

I have to show you these mugs Ju got us for our one year.
I think she understands us pretty well ;P

I also finally finished my fall wreath!
I know it's just wrapping some twine around a cardboard letter but it's tedious and took much longer than I expected.
However, I'm happy with the results!

How was your weekend?
Do anything fun?

Happy Monday!

Nail Files: Soft Pink

For this nail round I wanted to do something lighter. I had gotten the Teddy Girl from the Ulta sale and decided it was a nice light color to try!

I also find it to be a good idea to use a light color, and one you own when having "vacation nails" done. That way if you break a nail while you are gone it's not as noticeable and/or you can fix it by bringing the color with you.

Well I can say that I wasn't disappointed, and my mani girl decided to add a little flair :)
She found this little feather on Pinterest & wanted to try it out. I wasn't going to say no of course!

I love the softness of the pink. It stands out, but is still so soft looking.

Next week I'll have some vacation pics for you!!

Happy Friday!

Fall Swap

What up my party people?

Yeah I just said that.

Sooo this was a bit of a fail on my part.
This was supposed to go up yesterday, and I thought I'd be able to get it posted even though we were traveling back home.

Well, I could have, but apparently iPad & blogger aren't really friends.
Does anyone else use their iPad to blog? How do you do it, because I couldn't!
The pictures kept getting messed up, couldn't get it to show the whole post, or scroll to see the whole thing, etc.

I disgress...
I was lucky enough to be paired with Stormy over at It's Me against Margaret. If you haven't checked out her blog, go do it! It's a good one!

Since I was away, and my sister was at our place taking care of the pup she sent me the pics :)
Thanks Ju!

A scarf
I don't have a leopard print one so this is perfect.

Some new nail polish
This color is called Miss Fancy Pants :)

A tie up headband

A pretty cross bracelet

And finally a Halloween chocolate chip cookie!

I would have to say Stormy nailed it!
I love it all and I'm so excited to use/wear all of it!

Thanks Stormy and sorry for the delay!

Happy Thursday!
