Same Love

I actually found this song writing this post last week and it instantly caught my attention.
If you haven't been a reader of this blog for long then you should know that I am all for equality and will forever stand against intolerance and hate of any kind.
I believe that differences like skin color, sexual preference, gender, etc should be celebrated.
Aren't those differences what keeps mankind from being a bunch of drones?
But are those differences big enough to make a person less than a person?
You all know my answer to that...no!
I wish more people would realize that.

A person is a person no matter the differences.
Love is love no matter what kind.
It's all the same love!

Enjoy!

Happy Thursday!

OHP

Good morning and I hope everyone is having a good Wednesday.

Let's get right to the good stuff shall we...the pins!

I am really starting to come around to mint, especially for spring :)

I loved the Sound of Music growing up!
This makes me happy.

Copy Cat style

As I've become more aware of my desire to be a bit more fashionable I've turned to Pinterest more and more.
That probably is no surprise as most people do turn to the black hole of non-productivity but I think I do things a little bit different.
Maybe not, but I guess I'll find out after this post right? Right!
Anyways, I realize that even though I find outfits I like on there I don't usually have what those outfits consist of and in turn I just get a huge urge to go shopping...
Well that's unhelpful because my goal is not to expand my closet and shrink the wallet but to work with what I have.
Plus I've found that I am not looking to make an exact outfit from pinterest, I am looking for inspiration and honestly a bit of confidence that certain patterns, colors, etc do, in fact, work together.
So what I've been doing is finding something in my closet I want to wear that day and search for it on Pinterest and get some ideas of what I can pair it with!

Some of the inspiration has been easily found and easily mimicked...

The pin:
I searched "something comfy" for this one.
Maybe it's not the best example, but I got what I wanted I suppose.

Me...
sweater: Dorothy Perkins/Leggings: Target/Shoes: Nine West via DSW/Boot Socks & Scarf: gifted.

But some of the searching and in turn the copy catting has been difficult.

The pin:
I searched for "maxi and sweater"

Me...
Maxi: Express/Shirt: J.Crew/Scarf: Express/Shoes (not pictured): Steve Madden via DSW

Well...my outfit isn't quite the same...
I don't hate it, and it was quite comfy but in the end it wasn't what I was going for.
I found that I just didn't have what I needed to pull it off.
Just don't have the right wrap sweater for it...
Here comes that urge to go shopping.
I did find a pin similar to this outfit later in the day too and it made me feel better about not looking like a dummy with an outfit that just wasn't working.
Do you ever question what you are wearing, even at the end of the day after you've been wearing it for hours?
Maybe it's because you aren't quite confident in it, maybe it's because no one mentioned how cute you look, but I have it happen and sometimes finding something to reassure me, even 9-10 hours later makes me feel a million times better.

By the way, do you follow me on Pinterest?
Love you have you join me on my fashion journey...

What do you guys do when it comes to finding fashion on Pinterest?
Are you just looking for inspiration or are you looking to purchase the exact outfit?

Warm Weekend

Happy Monday!

Hope all of you had a great weekend.

I would definitely say that I did, and it flew by!

As I mentioned on Friday we hit up the Funny Bone, which is a comedy club for those of you who might not know what that is, and it was a blast!

...before the show, just wanted to show off my handsome husband and pupper :)

Before the show we had gotten dinner and drinks with one of the couples and got to catch up.
It was a nice little evening and started the weekend off on a really good note!

We saw Rob Little, which I'd never heard of (at least I don't think so?!) and he was actually really funny.
I say "actually" because we've been there a couple times and the comedian isn't that funny...total comedic fail.

Saturday ended up being quite the day of fun, which was kind of unplanned but I'd have to say those are the best days :)
It was sunny here this weekend and in turn a little bit warmer so I in a pretty good mood from the get go.

I ended up working out and then hit up the dog park with Gunner.
He needed the run around and I the sun!

While at the dog park our friend Kyle called me and invited to me to the Columbus Blue Jackets game because his friend had some company seats!

It's a good thing I said yes because the seats were amazing and the game was even better!!
You'll be seeing a Columbus Love post about the CBJ soon so more to come ;)

That evening we went out to Elevator Brewing Company for my BIL birthday!
I blogger failed and got absolutely no pictures of anything from that evening, I was to hungry, I think, to focus on anything but my food.
Does that happen to you?
You get so hungry or you just love food a lot like me, that you really can't focus on anything else...
please say yes!

Sunday was gorgeous around here!
Almost 70 degrees, so needless to say Kev and I spent quite a bit of time outside and being productive.
Our friend Boomer came over and as "payment" for storing his washer and dryer helped us clean a ton of stuff in out of our basement.
Hi, I'm Megan and apparently I am a bit of a hoarder.
Not really, just a box saver...an unnecessary box saver.
I think we broke down at least 50 some boxes from all our wedding gifts that I'd saved (i.e. dishes boxes, kitchen gadget boxes, etc).
We got a lot done and it feels good...but we have a long way to go.
Wish us luck people, we will need it!

Hopefully all the fun and productivness will carry over into this week.
Those gorgeous temps would be nice too...but that's not looking so good, beh!

How was all of your weekends?
Do anything fun...new...exciting?

Happy Monday!

Happies & Crappies

The Vintage Modern Wife: Happies and Crappies Link Up

Thought it'd be fun to try a new link-up out today.

What a better day to try out something new right? Right!

Happies!

We are heading to the Funny Bone tonight with a few couples that I hardly ever get to spend time with! Double happies on that one :)

We got to meet baby Penelope this week! I just love babies and I won't lie that all of these babies lately have given me the fever. Sorry Kev...

I got my haircut this week. Nothing special, but I always love a good trim :)

It's so nice to start seeing bright colors again! Clothing, nail polish, everything..color...and thank god because it was getting pretty gloomy for a a bit there.

This guy...nuff said :)

Crappies!

The snow we got this week. I don't really care that it only lasted a few hours, I didn't want it!
I think I am going to have to get new tires...like all 4 of them. So I guess I can say goodbye to a few hundred dollars.

I have not been good about working out this week. There is still tomorrow and Sunday!

I haven't gotten to much sleep this last week and I don't seem to be taking it that well...grumpy and a little emotional. Beh.

How has your week been?

Happy Friday!
