What I've Loving Wednesday

I'm loving Curly Girl Design. I have two framed pictures and only imagine I'll get more down the road. Of course you can all expect to see some posted here on quote days :)  How cute!

I'm loving that wedding season is right around the corner! Come onnnnnn July 9th :D

I'm loving the dance lessons that Kevin and I are taking for the wedding. I forget how much I miss dancing and we have so much fun :)

I'm loving Calvin and Hobbes. I've always loved them but I tend to go in spurts of using their quotes & what not.

I'm loving that the 4th of July is this weekend! First off, how the heck did it get to be July so fast. Second, it's my favorite holiday!

I'm loving all the new tv shows coming on. Refer to previous post

I'm loving that a dear friend of mine has been so strong through a traumatic ordeal. It's inspiring and I hope she knows how proud of her I am!

I'm loving that this weather is nice so dog gets outside, and wears him out enough to the point that he's behind me when running. Sleepy dog and ego boost for this girl :)

The before outside & running. Just as a note - I'm pretty sure I make the VROOM (like a Nascar) noise whenever I look at this picture.
The after. ZZZZZZZZZZZZ...
I'm loving all this Harry Potter hype! I am that Harry Potter fanatic. I've read all the books and have seen all the movies. Of course you better believe I'll be there for the last one - I think I start to tear up everytime I say that! It can't be the last one!

I'm loving Mexican food. I seem to get into these spurts with food. Don't get me wrong I'll eat anything at any time but lately I've been wanting Mexican. YUM!

I'm loving my job! It's been a good and busy couple of weeks but I finally feel like we are making some head way...lets keep our fingers crossed that's true!

Finally, I'm loving the fact that it's Wednesday! Hello hump day it's good to see you :) Could you possible make Friday come a little quicker?

Have a great day everyone!

Details, details, details (the cake topper edition)

Not to be confused with location, location, location. As promised more wedding talk from me :)  October is surely approaching...and quickly...very quickly... Anyways, we are getting down to the wire, the venue is booking, the attire fitted, and the invites are in (and soon going to be sent!!! there is no way we are 3 months out!). Now, it's time for the details, ya know, the little things that add a touch of charm here or a gives someone a little laugh there. First off  I hope that I don't forget to plan any of them! They are also the things that tend to slip your mind that is the temple of wedding planning. There is the cake topper, or do I want a cake topper? It's a guest book, or would I rather have a wishing jar? It's the...things you throw, blow, twirl, or shoot at people right after the ceremony, yeah I'll have this stuff but I don't always get it...I guess it's for fun right?
Looks like a ton of fun =/
All of you who are married or have been married understand. There is a lot that goes into a wedding. More than people realize I believe. At least I know there is a lot more that I never thought about before I started with my own. I've had fun looking for some of the these things, I've also been very frustrated and never wanted to see a cake topper again! However, I thought sharing some of the fun things I've found and ideas that we are thinking off (nothing is set in stone yet!) would be a good thing and possible give me some perspective. I wouldn't even mind your opinion about some of these or if you have any fun ideas they are welcomed...I'd even say highly encouraged!

Does anyone out there think that are are just entirely to many of anything wedding out there? Cake toppers are no different!  Kev and I are still up in the air about what to do...do we take the traditional route with figures, do we do objects instead of people? How about just doing a flower topper - that always looks nice...yeah, but what if you want a keepsake. The questions just keep coming. At this point you should know me. I've got several options for all of the above :)
I have found a ton of custom made cake toppers on Etsy! Aren't these guys cute! I like the idea of customized...don't like the prices so much.
Traditional, but I think it's pretty and easy.
We saw these figurines a long time ago and I think Kev has wanted it ever since. It's pretty funny really, but I haven't been able to find any that look like us (hair wise). Does that even matter? Help!
Birds seem to be a really popular cake topper. The ones I've seen are cute, but we really don't have birds or anything even remotely like a bird incorporated into the wedding.  Nor do either one of us have a love for them. So is it still acceptable to have a bird cake topper?
These are one of my favorites! I think they are adorable, goes with the fall wedding, and Kev's from Cville home to the Pumpkin Show. How fitting right? Guess we will see!
There is this option. Pretty simple, straight forward, and neutral when it comes to a theme. I like it, I think I'd like a little more omfph to it, but that's just me :)
We can always go the flowers as a topper route. I think it looks nice, but I kind of like the idea of having something to keep. This obviously aren't our flowers but you get the jist.
Finally the monograms. There are a million options for these which I like, but I've already decided that we would need more than a big "O" up there, we'd probably have to do both K & M and that's just more money. Kind of doubt this is where we end up on cake toppers but it's a good idea!
So there it is - one of the many decisions Kev and I will be making in the next couple of months. Again, any ideas are welcomed/needed/encouraged! I did have fun looking through these and I thought I'd share some of the greatest that I came across while searching. Some of fun, some are funny, and some are just down right strange!

Drunk cake toppers. I actually seen this more than I thought I would. It's kinda fun and kinda funny, but I also think it's weird. Why would you want you and your future hubs representation to be of the two of your sh*t faced with no recollection of what happened? Whatever I suppose.
You know I have to start the strange off right with this gem. WTH!

I think this is so cute!  Does not apply to myself or anyone I know but how unique without being way over the top!

If you know me you know I love Calvin & Hobbes! Adorable!!

I think this is funny & fun! I'm going to assume there is some kind of story behind it all but it's different!
Odd. I think that's the only word I can use with this. I've seen them used on The Knot in forest themed weddings. I get it, but it's still weird you're marrying a squirrel. Actually, there are all kinds of these so it doesn't have to be a squirrel - you have other options.
I believe the theme was like Mobster. While the cake and toppers are cool but not sure I'd want some kind of fire-y, blood-y scene as my wedding cake. That's just my opinion though.
These are just fun! Robots do not make sense for us, but I definitely can see how couples would love these!

I know the feeling...maybe I should go with this one lol.

Angry Birds. Love the game, and these are to cute. I'm still trying to figure out what the theme was or why this would apply to a couple so much...who knows!

Are you talking to me? I sure hope so!

Last night the season 4 premiere of True Blood. As I was watching with intrigue as so many Sunday's nights have been spent on my couch I started thinking about how much I liked Bill's accent. I love hearing him speak! So of course I went a little further and started thinking of all the actors out there with hot accents..mmmmmm. Woo hoo - back to reality Megan! I think the amazing part about is a lot of the time you don't really know that an actor as an accent until you watch an interview! A lot of actors have to change their accent to (American) English. I always wonder if that's difficult or if it's as easy as some of us changing our voice to be British accent. Anyways, I thought what better way to start off a work week...eye candy with sexy voices. Happy Monday :)

Charlie was born in Newcastle, England. You may recognize him from the TV series Sons of Anarchy. Don't all girls have a little thing for bad boys?!
The man who started it all. Stephen was born in Brentwood, Essex, England. If you have yet to hear him utter the word, "Sookie"..it's a must!
Another True Blood star, they have this show stacked! And no not with Stackhouses! Ryan is from Australia.
James was born and raised in Scotland. He's in the new X-Men movie as Professor X. He may need to use that mind control to ward off the ladies with that voice!
Also, a Scotland native. I think I'd really like Scotland :)
Old or new this country was made for men like Javier :) Javier is originally from Spain.
Do I even need to say anything? Well maybe...Thank you Australia!
Do you think Batman could see the Batman signal in Britain all the way from my house? It's worth a shot!

It's a good thing we have DVR...

Summer is upon us. Sunshine, pools...awesome TV shows. Some of you probably don't know this but I'm pretty obsessed with my TV and the shows I watch regularly. However, if you got to talking to me about it you would realize that my TV obsession is boarder line unhealthy and that I've seen almost every show you can imagine (at least one episode). I believe I've already admitted, several times, that I'm a reality TV show junkie. I don't think this summer's TV line up is going to help that cause. Another vice HBO & Showtime! Last year Kev and I added the channels to our line up (it's totally worth the extra money I promise) and I've been in TV land ever since. As the summer gets rolling and we get closer to the end of June that more excited I get for the summer/fall TV line up. With the busy summer/fall season I thank my lucky stars for our DVR because these are some shows that I (you too) aren't going to want to miss! What are those shows you ask? Let me share with you (and yes I've put these in series premiere order, told you I have a problem).

The Challenge: Rivals
Premieres Wednesday June 22nd (tomorrow!). Now, I haven't watched several seasons worth of this show. Why because it's pretty much the same thing over and over again. This season though - wow. I think the trailer speaks for itself! If nothing else I'm watching it for the pure chaos that you know you will see. What is better than watching people stuck in a house together that hate each other? Not much in the reality tv world!

True Blood: season 4
Premieres June 26th. I know a lot of people are in love with this show. I'm one of them.Who can resist the way that Bill says, "Sookie!" Makes me melt!  However, I think the whole mythological creatures thing is getting a bit out of hand. Vampire, werewolves, shape shifters, demons, fairies, panther looking thingys, and now witches (yes they gave that away already), finally humans. How many unreal things can really be out there amongst us? Either way I'll be tuning every Sunday to see what pops up in the life of Sookie Stackhouse.

Weeds & the Big C
Premieres Monday June 27th. I've seen Weeds before and I was a little on the border about how I felt about it. Sometimes it was good other times...not so much. I think this season I'm going to give it one last try. It's pretty funny and kind of makes you wonder what your neighbors are really up too :) As for The Big C...I've never watched this as we didn't have Showtime the last seasons it was on but I've heard good things. I've heard It's got the wide range of emotion that I find intriguing and refreshing on a TV show. Yes, I'm a crier so every once and awhile I like to have a show that will get me to that point. It will be interesting to see if this is a fairly realistic show or just way over the top. However, its another one I'm going to give a try and see where it goes.

Love in the Wild
Premieres Wednesday June 29th. Here comes my reality TV obsession and this is a new one! First season for this show and realistically it looks like one of those shows that may be all there is. It's 10 guys and 10 girls trying to find love. Expect for the fact that they are in the jungle - new impression under mosquito nets, first dates down alligator infested waters...hello why wouldn't I watch?! There are challenges with the couples and of course eliminations. A couple can stick together or someone can call it quits and give love a shot with someone else. Seems like there are a lot of factors for drama, secrets, and manipulation. But hey it's all in the name of love right?

Big Brother
Premieres Thursday July 7th. Yet another show that haven't watched and I've really haven't had a huge interesting in watching. Not sure why since it encompasses pretty much everything I like about reality tv but I don't. However, a few of good friends love it so I felt the need to watch this full season and make my opinions then. From my understanding it's quite time consuming, there are several ways for to stay up with the show though - the show itself, blogs, and the infamous live feed camera in the house. If I can get through the time part I think it could become part of my TV regime.

Lucky for me this is where the summer shows stop for me (at least the ones I watch or plan to watch regularly) and the fall line up starts. As you can see my summer is already quite full with what TV is offering. I'm going to need a break =/

Jersey Shore: season 4
Of course my numbero uno (how appropriate). GTL in Italy? We'll see how that goes. There really isn't a whole lot that you can say because everyone already knows about this hot mess of a show. All the hype that is already circling - Snooki got in a car wreck already! Girl get your life together! I'm not even all that pumped to see all the chaos that inevitable happens between the housemates.  I want to see the chaos around the Italian people and how they react! Personally I have mixed feelings - they are going to be loved or absolutely hated. Either way I'm fine with it :)

The next couple of shows have not announced their exact premiere dates, but they will be in the fall and you better believe I'll be watching them.

Angry Boys
This has already made it's premiere in Austraila (where it originated) and will be premiering in the US late summer/early fall of 2011. If any of you are familiar with Summer Heights High you'll be just as excited for this as I am. Chris Lilley is back at it again. Chris plays the part of three different characters in his series. In this series he plays the parts of twin brothers (each have their own very distinct personalities) and then a mother. Yes, he plays the part of a girl/woman in his shows. As it's an overseas TV shows it's got it's odd moments, but I can promise you that you'll laugh...a lot :)

Boardwalk Empire
Last by not least.  This should premiere around late August/early September of this year. The first season didn't start off as well as I had hoped, but the more I watched the more interested I became. Maybe it's because life was sort of like back then in Atlantic City. The gangster/mobster life has always been something that I find fascinating - probably because it's so secretive. Also prohibition - you can blame Westerville history for that one :) I can't wait to see what kind of problems and issues arise this season! Who dies, who lives, do the main character stay at their respectable statues...who knows? However, there is no doubt in my mind that there will be gun fire, deceit, blood shed, and of course love.

Friday :)

It's the weekend. I'm so happy I just want to dance :)

Happy weekend everyone!

Keeping up with...just Kim this time.

As you can all imagine lately weddings have been on my mind. No wayyyyy right? Way! Well anyways anytime that anything wedding is mentioned my ears perk. My reaction was no different when I heard with the rest of the world that Kim Kardashian is getting married.

I don't really care so much about that, what I care about is all this registry news!
Kim & crew leaving wedding registry store #1
First, off  really Kim...you don't have enough of your own money to spend on yourself? For that matter don't you have an already awesome house, fully furnished with awesome & beautiful things thanks to your reality TV stardom and "modeling" career?
Kim's 4.8 million dollar home. No big deal.
Ya know, I'm digging the bedroom but you think this girl would be a little bit more fun with her decor!
See! Already full of pretty things!
I'm in love with this outdoor set! Hey Kim - I suppose if you are replacing it with wedding registry items you could ship this my way :)

Second, I've come to realize that I don't really recall every hearing about a celebrity registering for their wedding. Does it happen and we just don't hear about it, or do most of them think like I do about the situation and get their own stuff since they can afford it?

Third, as much as I enjoy watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Khloe & Lamar, and all other trash reality tv for that matter I still can't figure out why those girls really became famous in the first place. Can anyone help me there?

I'm a little tired of seeing Kim's big rear.  We get the point people, she's got a huge ass!
I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I can imagine that she wants a "normal" wedding like everyone else. Guess what Kim...you aren't normal! I suppose when you have a ton of millionaire friends then you can afford to have a registry as luxurious a hers. Continuing! So as I read the articles I became almost appalled with the what I was seeing listed...a vase is how much? There is no way in hell one plate bread & butter plate cost $109.00! See the jam jar below! Good grief!
Baccarat's $7,850 Cosmos vase.

Baccarat's $380 jam jar....EXCUSE ME! FOR A JAM JAR!
Lalique's $735 "Wisdom" set.

As most of the articles state she is registered at Gearys in Beverly Hills (I suppose this is my dream big store), and they plan (yeah right!) going to William Sonoma too. Apparently it's always one extreme to the next with Kim huh?  As I got more and more into the articles I decided, "hey, lets see what I can find here!" and to my surprise you can actually get to Kim's registry list from the Grearys site! I thought for sure that they would have this blocked! NOPE! SCORE!
Kim's Registry at Grearys
As I drool (and get a bit more disgusted ) looking at all the lovely items on her list I realize that this isn't a normal person's list here Megan. Let's be real. As much I adore the items and wish for all those pretty things, I'm realistic and I could never spend that much on things just hanging out around the home place. I will also say after seeing this I have no guilt about Kevin & I's registries! So, I'm still trying to figure out why this has become such a big deal in the news. Does this really not happen with celebrities (not that I wouldn't get why if it doesn't)? Is just because its the big K.K. and she's FINALLY getting married? Now we will no long have hear her complaining about her sisters having a boyfriend/husband and not herself! You can SHUT UP now Kim! Is it because all of this is such a whirlwind? Dating in December, engaged in May, married in October! Those girls have always been pretty quick to get married. I guess so far so good for Khloe and Lamar so why shouldn't Kim do it too? Anyways, I degress.

What do you think about celebrity registries? Is it realistic? It is selfish? Is it even acceptable to you? Do think they only do it for the attention? Hmm..so many question so little celebrity sleaze.
