Out of Pinterest & Into my Closet Please

google
With Spring right around the corner I've been taking full advance of getting fashion inspiration from Pinterest! There have been so many cute outfits & accessories that I've found for the spring! Yet another challenge for myself this season, dress better!

If I were any more in love with this color I'd have to marry it. Sorry babe!

I cannot seem to get enough of rompers! I love this!

Prefect color for the spring :)

I really want to get a couple pair of new flats!

I also seem to really want some maxi/longer skirts!

See! More skirts...

I die! I always have a hard time finding short, they are usually wayyyyy to short on me if I get the correct waist size. I love these & they look like they'd be on a little bit of the longer side.

I love this shirt! Like the skirt, but it's probably not something that I'd wear.

I want to learn how to accessories more & I love the brown accessories & pink combo!

I like how simple this is and the pops of color.

What did you guys find on Pinterest this week?

Stop Junk Mail

For as I much as I believe that we are dooming ourselves I'm not always the best at taking care of the environment. Ya know, the one thing absolutely necessary for survival. Now, I don't mean that I litter or never think about my effects on the planet but I don't always take the best steps on treating the Earth right.

I've decided that overall I'd like to become more aware of recycling. I know what recycling is and how it works but what I don't know is everything that can & should be recycled versus the things they won't take.

So the other day at work when I went to get rid of my Starbucks cup I decided to look on the Ohio Recycling website to see if the whole thing could be recycled and stumbled across this little gem: Reduce your Junk Mail. Instantly I was intrigued! What I learned was even better. You can Opt-Out of getting Junk Mail! I don't know about you guys but I know that Kev and I get a ridiculous amount of Junk Mail from credit card bureaus and insurances places. Not only was I extremely happy to find out that I could get rid of all that crap, but I learned that doing this one simple thing can make a pretty significant difference. Especially if we all did this!

  • This junk mail creates around 4 million tons of waste (preventable I might add) each year!
  • This junk mail will cost taxpayers $320 million in disposal fees annually
  • This junk mail destroys 62 million trees a year.
  • This junk mail created 28 billion gallons of wastewater per year
  • This junk mail fills 3% of America's landfills and continues to grow.
  • The kicker...44% of this junk mail that causes all of these issues will remain unopened, unread, and be immediately trashed.
  • Top Website to use to stop getting junk mail: DMAchoice.org
Could you imagine what impact would be made if most people participated in the Opt Out of Junk Mail "program". The links above doesn't only give you the Opt Out option but many other tips & links to help reduce your junk mail even further.

So if you are anything like me I would highly suggest getting yourself on the "No Junk Mail" list and help out the environment. Lord knows she can get all the help she needs!

Happy Monday!

Happy Friday Funnies!

This girl could not be more thrilled that it's Friday! It's seemed to be a long week. Not for any particular reason other than it just felt long.

Let's end this work week on a positive note with a few smiles :)

Hahahah this makes me laugh every time I read it :)

Lent

As you all probably know by now, Kev and I are both Catholic.
Borned & raised.
So Lent has always been part of our lives. It's one of the few traditions of the Catholic Church that I try to abide by.
This year I'm going to try two things for Lent.
I kid. I kid.
The first thing is something to give up.
Excuses.

I was thinking about this yesterday and realized that I can make a lot of excuses not to do something.
The thing that I'm the worst about making excuses for is exercising. I can make every excuse in the book to NOT exercise. Fighting the urge to not want to go to the gym or work out in general is tough! I know that I have to stop making my dumb excuses and just do it. I will never regret that.

I think another thing I'm pretty bad about making excuses for is the house.
Things like getting the new bedspreads for the guest rooms and re-doing the upstairs bathroom.
There is nothing really stopping me other than my excuses of not having money, the time, or the right measurements. Something even as simple as getting a room just more organized can be difficult for me to get motivated for.

I think I'm going to try this challenge! Day 1, here we go :)

All my excuses have started to interfere with my "getting shit done" way of thinking lately!
 I need to stop!

The second thing is to Start Doing. What I'm going to start doing this Lent is:
Cooking/Vegetarian Cooking

You've all heard me say that I need to be better about cooking. I need to start doing it more often so I can get better at it overall. What better time then Lent to work on my cooking skills. Since we can't have meat on Friday's I figured it'd be a good time to focus on vegetarian meals! Kevin is definitely a meat eater so it's rare (no pun intended) that we go a meal without some kind of meat on there. However, I think I could be a vegetarian if it weren't for steak & bacon! I love vegetarian meals and Kev actually says that my Veggie Lasagna is his favorite...BOO YA!

Here are some recipes that I've found I want to try!

I'm pretty excited to take on some of these recipes & hope to discover something yummy!

What are you guys giving up or taking on this year for Lent?

Happy Thursday!

This has become one of my new favorites! It's easy to forget something like this...

This is absolutely, 100% true!

What I wouldn't give to have big windows like that. Someday!

Thinking about starting to do No Meat Mondays. Something good for Kev, myself, and the environment! I suppose that this is just all in time for Lent!
