Cedar Point & Mother's Day weekend

This weekend was a pretty great one.
Minus the fact that it went entirely to quickly!

On Friday and Saturday, Kev and I headed up to Cedar Point with a couple of our friends Scott and Jordan who had hooked us up with quite the deal.

Friday was an OSU alumni day, and I'll just say that we completely lucked out with the weather and had a great time.
The park was only open to OSU alumni and their friends and family.
I was pretty sure there would be quite a few people there since OSU is a big school and lots of people who went there still live in the state, but it wasn't busy at all!
The longest line was 20 minutes long, and that was for the brand new ride, GateKeeper!

Needless to say we definitely felt spoiled and going back the following day, which was also opening day, was rough because the lines and amount of people were now huge!
It was also freezing, so we did not stay long that day.
Honestly, we stayed long enough for Kev and Scott to ride the Gate Keeper one more time thanks to the ticket Scott won on Friday.
The ticket took them literally to the very front of a four and half hour waiting line.
Did I mention the four and half hour waiting line had formed in the 20 minutes the park was open?
Crazy right!? I'd really hate to hear how long people ended up waiting by the middle of the afternoon!

Since Saturday was a bit chilly Jason and Danielle hosted a bonfire and we played a couple board games.
If you guys have never played The Game of Things you really need too, it's hilarious!

With Sunday being Mother's Day Kev and I headed down to take his mom and sister out to eat.
It was nice to get to spend some time with them, and get a chance to relax a bit.
I didn't get to see my mom on Mother's Day so I showed some love via social media by sharing this gem on Instagram (follow me: here)
Mom and me :)
She's about my age here, and I can only hope to be as great of a mother as she is someday :)
The rest of the evening was spent chillin' and watching Game of Thrones.
I really can't get enough of that show. So good.

How was your Mother's Day weekend?

Happy Monday!

Warm Weekend

Happy Monday!

Hope all of you had a great weekend.

I would definitely say that I did, and it flew by!

As I mentioned on Friday we hit up the Funny Bone, which is a comedy club for those of you who might not know what that is, and it was a blast!

...before the show, just wanted to show off my handsome husband and pupper :)

Before the show we had gotten dinner and drinks with one of the couples and got to catch up.
It was a nice little evening and started the weekend off on a really good note!

We saw Rob Little, which I'd never heard of (at least I don't think so?!) and he was actually really funny.
I say "actually" because we've been there a couple times and the comedian isn't that funny...total comedic fail.

Saturday ended up being quite the day of fun, which was kind of unplanned but I'd have to say those are the best days :)
It was sunny here this weekend and in turn a little bit warmer so I in a pretty good mood from the get go.

I ended up working out and then hit up the dog park with Gunner.
He needed the run around and I the sun!

While at the dog park our friend Kyle called me and invited to me to the Columbus Blue Jackets game because his friend had some company seats!

It's a good thing I said yes because the seats were amazing and the game was even better!!
You'll be seeing a Columbus Love post about the CBJ soon so more to come ;)

That evening we went out to Elevator Brewing Company for my BIL birthday!
I blogger failed and got absolutely no pictures of anything from that evening, I was to hungry, I think, to focus on anything but my food.
Does that happen to you?
You get so hungry or you just love food a lot like me, that you really can't focus on anything else...
please say yes!

Sunday was gorgeous around here!
Almost 70 degrees, so needless to say Kev and I spent quite a bit of time outside and being productive.
Our friend Boomer came over and as "payment" for storing his washer and dryer helped us clean a ton of stuff in out of our basement.
Hi, I'm Megan and apparently I am a bit of a hoarder.
Not really, just a box saver...an unnecessary box saver.
I think we broke down at least 50 some boxes from all our wedding gifts that I'd saved (i.e. dishes boxes, kitchen gadget boxes, etc).
We got a lot done and it feels good...but we have a long way to go.
Wish us luck people, we will need it!

Hopefully all the fun and productivness will carry over into this week.
Those gorgeous temps would be nice too...but that's not looking so good, beh!

How was all of your weekends?
Do anything fun...new...exciting?

Happy Monday!

InstaWeekend :)

This weekend was a pretty good one my friends.
There was just the right balance of having stuff to do and having some down time, which is just what I needed.

Saturday was spent hanging out with the bestest. Jason, Danielle, Kev, and I hit up Harvest Pizza for lunch and then treated ourselves to some macaroons for dessert from Pistacia Vera.
They were so good and what a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon, stuffing your face :)
This is a good transition to tell you guys that I'll be starting a little series about all things Columbus.
You probably noticed the Explore Columbus header!
My plan is to give reviews, show you guys the different areas of the city, and let you know about events we have around here.
Columbus has so much to offer, that's why I love it here, and I want you guys to love it too!
So whether you live here or plan to visit come check out my information or feel free to email me with some questions!
I don't really have a planned day, just as we go do things I'll let you know about it!
First review to come, Harvest! Duh!

Later than night Danielle and I have a sorority function and after we met the guys at the bowling alley!
I haven't been bowling in forever and it was so much fun!
I'm usually terrible but this round I held my own!

Sunday was spent cleaning the house, and cuddling with Gunner!
I spent most of the day lounging in bed watching The Walking Dead marathon and the Blue Jackets Game.
While lounging I look over and Gunner is falling asleep sitting up, goofy pup! lol.
Gotta ♥ him!

What did you  guys do this weekend?

Happy Monday!

Weekend Update! Beerfest & A Baby Shower

This weekend flew by my friends.

It was 60 degrees, and despite the fact that it was raining it just made everything seem a little bit better like warm weather tends to do.

It was also fun filled!

Friday was a relaxing one for Kev and I.
We stayed home and watched some movies.
We've been on a movie spurt!
We watched Lawless
Have you guys seen it?
It's pretty good and I am pretty sure my crush Tom Hardy has like tripled!
Shia LaBeouf isssn't to bad either ;P

Saturday we went to Beerfest
I've told you guys about this activity that is held in Columbus before about a year or so ago, here
Well since then the event has grown and now they host a summer beerfest and it's held on Friday and Saturday on the scheduled weekend instead of just Saturday
Apparently Columbus likes their beer...and if you've read this article on "the most hungover cities in the US" you'd all of Ohio does too!

This year there seem to be even more vendors with more beer options.

It never fails, I always get one of these on my camera.

Sunday was a friends baby shower!
Lindsey threw it and I'm telling you it was right off a pinterest board.
I didn't get the best pictures of it all but she made the food items to correspond with baby books that we could give Danielle, the mama-to-be.
For example, there was "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" next to a crockpot of meatballs and pink lemonade for "Pinkalicious", etc.
She did a really great job.

Emma (the baby's name) got a lot of goodies :)

Danielle even got a little practice while at her own shower.

It was a really fun weekend overall.
What did you guys do? Anything fun?
Tell me about it!

 Happy Monday!

Friends

This weekend one of my best friends Lindsey and I (and our fellas) took our annual trip to see our other best friend Korie.

I've been great friends with these girls for several years and even with the distant from Kor I find an extreme comfort in their friendship.
The comfort of knowing each other so well, the comfort in expression our feelings to one another - even if we disagree, and a comfort in knowing they'll always be there.
I'm so blessed to have these girls in my life.

Happy Monday

Weekend Update

This weekend was a splendid one folks.

One of those calm before the storm kind of times because after this weekend holiday season and preparation is in full force.

Friday was game night over at Ddubs & Jason's place, but first we had to get ourselves something delicious and we opted for Schmidt's!

Now if you living in Columbus you've probably heard of this restuarant, and have even tried it yourself - after the 2 hour wait you usually get put on.
If you do not live in Cbus you probably have not heard of this heavenly place.
Schmidt's is an amazing German restaurant down in German Village (easy enough right!?)
I mean it's legit - brats, schnitzel, sauerkraut, more importantly beer.

The band, Squeezin' & Wheezin, (no I am not kidding, that is the band name) was right next to us!
It was two older men, meet Squeezin' over on the left there, and the other played the tuba.
Get it now Squeezin - accordian player, and Wheezin' - tuba player lol.

They have the BEST cream puffs on the planet.
You really need to get yourself one and some point in your lives :)
Per usual we stuffed ourselves, but we luckly enough to enjoy a nice evening walk back to Jason & Danielle's place.
We met this guy on the walk home and he was by far my favorite.
Who doesn't love a holiday giraffe, and in Ohio of all places :)

We wrapped the evening up with The Game of Things
Probably the best game of all time. You must get it!

Saturday morning was spent Christmas decorating.
I am not one of those people that have enough motivation to decorate the day after Thanksgiving.
I like being a little lazy after I stuff myself with enough food for the next month.

The mantel was first, and I am not sure I'm finished yet, but for the most part it's all up there.

Some new Pottery Barn outlet purchases for Danielle and I's recent shopping trip.
I think the reindeer is going to get wrapped in some lights or something - any suggestions?
Heck that guy might stay out year round, I like him, and technically he's can be like a regular deer, or an elk or something, not just a reindeer.

3 of my favorite decorations!
By the way, do you follow me on Instagram
Ya probably should ;P

 Our tree.
A little blurry, we have the weirdest light in our living room, and really I'm not that great at taking dark pictures. Beh.
I love all the different ornaments on there.

I also spent the morning putting together this beaut.
It's probably the best thing I've bought for the house in awhile.
I'd been looking for a little console/cabinet for that area and to give us more storage in the kitchen.
This just happening to fall into my lap.
I found it on Target - find it here
Inexpensive and easy to put together!

Saturday night Danielle and I watched one of her nephews Quinn, while her SIL, BIL, and 3 other nephews tried to go to the zoo lights.
Sadly they didn't make it because of the traffic!
Apparently it was bad, like sat there for 2 hours without movement bad =/
He is too adorable for words.

And Sunday was spent lounging with the hubs.
Thanks for this crazy weather we are having in the great state of O-H-I-O
Wait...Ohio is having weird, completely sporadic weather??? Neverrrr....
I was struggling with a headache so I laid around and was completely unproductive.
I did get to watch the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead which is ALWAYS a plus.
However, now I have to wait until Feb to see it again :( Boo!

How was all of your weekends?

Happy Monday!

Halloweekend

This is going to be short and sweet :)

This weekend was a great one!

Friday was spent celebrating Jason's birthday!
There was food.
There were board games, cards, and the Kinect.
There was amazing company.
I really don't think it could have been much better!
I also believe it's important to note that this Friday I didn't get to bed until 3AM!!!!!!
This my friends in a Megan Miracle.
I never stay up that late, especially on Fridays, and there was no real reason for me to be awake other than hanging out with friends, and even then I usually fall asleep on the couch until Kev tells me it's time to go :)
Of course I don't have any pictures of this night, but it was fun!

Saturday was High-Ball here in Columbus.
All High-Ball is, is a big ole costume party in the middle of...wait for it...High Street.
Get the name now?
They close a big portion of the street and they have things like costume contests, karaoke, etc.
If nothing else it's always interesting.
Anyway...
We aimed to get down to that on time but by the time we walked the few blocks in the cold we opted to just go to one of our regular bars!

What did we go as you ask?
What better costume for this girl than a Queen costume! Lol.
I really didn't intend on being a queen, I just happened to find the costume at TJMaxx and like most things I had procrastinated on a costume idea and didn't have much time to do anything else :)
I think it's pretty perfect myself!

Danielle was a flapper girl.
It was the cutest costume, and easy to add things yourself (like those pearls she has one!).
And she got herself one of those long cigarette holders to round out the look.
To be clear Danielle doesn't smoke at all, this was for accessorizing and to be used as a weapon later in the evening.

Jason was by far the most creative.
He was the guy (Aaron Ralston) from 127 Hours
Isn't that great?!?
Everything came together so nicely...he even used one of the cow bones that Hannah chews on as the bone for his "arm"! It looked real folks!
People loved it.

Sunday was spent working and cleaning up the house.
Boringggggg....but perfect for a cold, rainy day!

How was all of your weekends?
Do anything fun for Halloween?

Happy Monday!

Weekend Update

I'm not sure about all of you but I wasn't fully prepared for this weekend to be over. I was not ready for Monday!

This weekend was spent mainly being productive.
It seems like most of my weekends are calming down and becoming moments of laziness with a punch of productivity.
It's nice, and honestly feels good to be able to get things done.
Although, it also feels good when I'm sitting on my ass doing nothing.

I mentioned last week that I was going to Pumpkin Show this weekend, and that I did.
Well I went on Friday.
However, due to the weather, I didn't get a single picture!

Sadly it was rainy here this weekend, and Friday was the only time I could make it down there.
Said rain did not keep us from eating our way through the thing though.
I seriously wish I could live on "fair" food, especially when things like Pumpkin Chili (it's like normal chili, only with pumpkin spice) and Pumpkin burgers (Sloppy Joe's made with pumpkin instead of the chili sauce) are thrown into the mix.
This years pumpkin contest winners!
1315 lb pumpkin!
{image here}

Saturday I got my nails done (come back Friday for the Nail Files), and ran some errands.
I think I told you all that Kev and I got a new bed suite a couple weekends ago.
Thank you Joss & Main.
Anyway, I wanted to pick up some cute little knick knacks, so I did.
(sorry for the fuzzy pictures, they are cell phone pics)
Found this Queen sign at World Market.

I also got this little deer jewelry holder, and a little basket that will be my "junk" basket.
Can I tell you how much I love that place, World Market that is!
They had some of the cutest decor stuff...
and wine...amazing wine!

This is a new favorite for me :)

I also made my way over to Target for some picture stuff and I actually made it out of there with less then $100 worth of stuff!
I think that's a record.

Sunday was spent getting some stuff done.
First, and foremost Kev's deer was finally ready.
Ready as in the processessor had it all butchered up.
Weird to say but I am excited for all of our deer meals, and good thing since we ended up with two boxes (boxes o' meat as I like to say).

I think the whole rest of the day was spent hanging out stuff around the house...finally!
and doing some laundry.

This has to be my favorite thing we did yesterday!
Remember I told you I got these hanging vases from CB2?
Well they are up and my air plants finally have a home, that isn't a towel on the table :)
We just got some decorative hooks and twine from Home Depot and up they went.
It's now my little "green" corner.

We got some more pictures hung up, and of course I needed to throw a crown into it all :)

 More pictures hung.
Can you tell that Kev and I really loved our wedding pics?!
You will also never have any issue in figuring our who's house you are in because we have pics of ourselves everywhere lol.
More friend & family pictures to go up soon!

I'm calling this our Ohio wall :)
Now I just need some little trinkets and a small frame for the shadow boxes.
Do you guys have any shadow boxes?
What do you put in yours?

Are you still here?
If I wasn't lame and had gotten more (and better) pictures I'm sure this post would be much more appealing.
But that, my friends, was my weekend!

What did you do this weekend?
Hope whatever it was made it awesome!

Happy Monday!
