Things I Live For

We all have our favorite things in this world.
Things we live for.
Things we could never live without.
I believe I have more than 10 overall but I suppose some of these are fairly generic because there are just certain aspects that I love but could change a bit from situation to situation.

1) People and our relationships:
This would encompass all of those important to me. Kev, my family, friends. More importantly it's the relationships that I have formed with these people that I absolutely live for. All these relationships are different, changing and growing and it's so fun to go through that. Granted not all relationships I've had have lasted, but I suppose that is life and it's something I'm willing to go through in order to become the person I want to be. Without these relationships I would never be who I am and I would never have the wonderful people in my life that I will ensure are there forever.

2) Gunner, and really all animals.
I seriously can't get enough of my mutt man...or really animal. I just love 'em! No matter how many times I see or hear it it breaks my heart to know there are people out there who are cruel to animals and I'll never understand it. Heck it breaks my heart to see people treat their animals like pets, and they aren't even treating them bad, but they aren't treating them like little humans like I do! Animals are a passion I have and one I'll never grow out of.

3) A good meal.
Let's be real folks, we've all had those meals that we just die over every single bite we take and that NEVER gets old. The words "Oh my god, this is SO good", and "MMMMM" have to be a constant part of my vocabulary or I tend to not be a very happy person.

4) Traveling.
Not only because I get a vacation but I really believe that getting the chance to explore new places helps you explore yourself. It helps open the mind, see new cultures/ideas/beliefs, and try things you may never have tried if you just stuck around home base. Of course the food and relaxation that are sure to happen doesn't hurt either.

5) Music.
Nothing like a good song to put you into a better mood. Really, I enjoy any song that gets my emotions going, not just happiness. Anything that helps me know that others relate always seems to make me feel better. Plus I love to dance so even if it's not meaningful and I can dance too it makes me happy!

6) Memories.
I thoroughly enjoy the fact that we are a species that has the ability to recall happenings in our lives. Getting to think back to when I was a kid playing in the yard with a favorite toy, driving to football or basketball games with friends, and many other things that I really can rattle off without rambling is honestly a pass time that I love! Having photos to go with them is like the ultimate icing on the cake for me. I don't want to say I live in the past because I don't but those things, good or bad, did put me where I am today. I have no regrets and it often reminds me of how blessed I truly am to have so many memories to recall that make me smile :)

7) The fall.
Yes, I am one of those people that if I could live in a world where it was constantly in the 60's and 70's I would be thrilled. Rain is also welcome. I love everything about the fall! The colors, the smells, the activities, I seriously cannot get enough of it! Now if Mother Nature would just make it last a little bit longer in Ohio...

8) The water.
I've grown up being around a body of water my whole life. Not always consistently but on the weekends we would go to the lake, I participated in swim lessons for years, and we did have a pond in my latter years growing up. There is something about being on/in the water that just soothes me.

9) My Job.
I honestly am not sure I would have ever said this but I really enjoy my job. I enjoy the company itself, and my co-workers which is a huge deal considering I think atmosphere is everything. If I am going to work this is the place I want to be. I feel challenged, yet not overwhelmed. I feel needed but understand that I am just one of the many people that help this place run so not all the pressure is on me. I really never get bored because things are constantly changing. It's actually very fulfilling...and I get a sweeeet discount :P

10) Me!
Hey maybe that is a little selfish but we need to be honest with ourselves and realize that you should be living a life for you! I strive to be a better person daily. That would include being a better wife, daughter, friend, etc. If you aren't living for yourself then you can't really say you live for anyone else because you are going to be unhappy and in turn so are they. Suppose that goes back to the whole "you can't please everyone" and "In order to love someone you have to love yourself" mottos. You gotta do what is best for you (and of course take loved ones into consideration). I live to enjoy myself, to learn, and to grow! What could make a better life than that?

Quoting Goodness

I've found a lot of good quotes lately on Pinterest that I'd like to share.

It always seems like I go through spurts of finding wisdom, inspiration, motivation, and truth in quotes that I just can't seem to find anywhere else.

Boy Behind the Blog

Boys Behind The Blog

I was so excited when Mallory and Stephanie introduced this Boys Behind the Blog link up because I enjoy giving Kev the opportunity to partake in something that I enjoy.
He reads my posts on a pretty regular basis, which from my understanding doesn't happen that often for other bloggers.
It's probably because what I write is pretty much about his life too, so along this journey of what I thought was documenting my life I've been truly documenting our life.

So without further adieu...here my boy behind this blog :)

1. What celebrity would play you in a movie about your life?
I have been told that I look like the animated version of the character Tin Tin.
So I guess if it was an animated movie, Tin Tin would play me.
If I had to choose an actual celebrity I would pick a bad ass like Russell Crowe or Jason Statham, but I would probably be best portrayed by a mix of Chris Pratt and Norman Reedus (weird combo… I know).

Megan: The Tin Tin thing always makes me giggle because it's pretty true, he does look like him.
Kev would definitely be like Darryl if there were a zombie apocalypse - he's a mean shot with a bow!
Not to mention he'd definitely carry his bow around all sexy like just like Norm lol.

2. What is your dream car?
67 Mustang Shelby GT 500 or a new Ford F-350 Platinum

3. Do you have any tattoos? What, where, why?
A cross on my back in-between my shoulder blades that my sister drew for me.
I think a cross is pretty self-explanatory.

4. Boxers or briefs?
Both.
It kind of depends on the situation.
If I am lounging around, boxers.
If I am doing something active, boxer briefs.
Never briefs though, I stopped wearing briefs after elementary school.

5. List 3 random facts about yourself...
I hate when people put the toilet paper on the holder backwards.
Megan:It's true. I never really knew there was a right and wrong way to put on TP.
Apparently there really is...not kidding...google toilet paper etiquette.

One of my favorite meals is liver and onions
Megan: I refuse to eat this anymore. I did it for two birthdays in a row in the beginning and now I just can't.

I love to cook, especially if I caught or shot it :P
Megan: Very true and it's always so tasty. Keep an eye out for a venison recipes of Kev's that I've had waiting in the wings for a while now....whoops.

 Happy Thursday!

Exactly how it should be.

I don't have much to say because I think it's all pretty much said in the video.
We can learn from these kids.
This is exactly how the world should be.
Love is love, no matter what.

Happy Wednesday :)

Golden Graham S'mores Treats

The moment I found the pin for these golden graham s'mores treats I knew I'd have to make them!
I posted the same pin last week on OHP and got a bunch of comments on how delicious they looked, and can I just say they really, really are!
Even better is that they are super easy to make.

Here is the original pin:

And here are mine:
Mine don't look quite the same but I think the main difference is when I added the chocolate chips they ended up melting a bit with the hot marshmallows.
However, there are still some chucks of chocolate so it was kind of a nice mix and I feel like I like that even better than just the chocolate chips chunks.

Ingredients:
- 3 Tbsp butter or margarine
- 1 package (10oz/about 40 marshmallows) regular marshmallows.
OR 4 cups mini marshmallows
- 6 cups of golden grahams (add more if you'd like them to be less marshmallow-y)
Chocolate chips (I did not have a set amount, I just put what looked like a good amount into a bowl, maybe about 1/2 to 3/4 cup?)

Directions:
1) In a large sauce melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.

2) Add the Golden Grahams cereal & chocolate chips. Stir until well coated.
*Now this is where I did things a little differently. Instead of adding the cereal and chocolate chips I already had them per-measured in a mixing bowl and added the marshmallows to that as my sauce pan wasn't large enough to have all the ingredients added to it. Not sure if it makes a huge difference or not, but that's probably how the chocolate ended up so melted.
* Also, I'd think about buttering the spatula/spoon before mixing the ingredients as it did end up getting pretty sticky.

3) Use a buttered spatula or some wax paper and evenly press the mixtures into a 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan cooked with cooking spray. Cool.
*Really any pan size will do, just depends on how thick you want the treats. The pan I used was bigger than what they say so they were a little thinner but I was ok with that!

Best if served the same day, but let's be real people they are delicious the next day, and the day after that as long as you make sure they are in an airtight container!

*You can also follow the mircowave instructions but I seem to do better with the stove overall.

Pretty simple considering it's just the Rice Krispie treat recipe, only with golden grahams and chocolate!

Now go make a batch and enjoy!

Happy Tuesday!

I'm back for some OHP

Ya know...I thought eventually I would get bored with Pinterest like I do with most internet fads.
Whelp, that has yet to happen and lately I've been finding some really good stuff.

Now, if the rain would just stop for a second I think I could get out of the gloomy mood and find some motivation to take on some of these projects or recipes I would be in great shape!

The real life Dumbo!

Haven't been to a Chili's in years but anything with the word queso is a must in my book!

Smore's golden graham treats

Ummm I really need to find out where I can get this shirt!

Peaches & cream coffee cake

 Homemade mozzarella sticks.

Haha definitely some truth to this but I never made my sister do this!
Although thinking back it would have been pretty funny and regret not asking her to...

Happy Wednesday.
