Nail Files

The Nail Files

Last Friday I got myself my tri-weekly mani :)

I was thinking I wanted to do something subtle, like the last time.
However, yet again, I didn't stick to what I originally thought about.
Oh no. I went bright again, and I love it :)

I love bot the colors, but this Magic Attraction is awesome!!
So sparkly and it doesn't need an undercoat.
Pure glitter!

Happy Friday and everyone have a great weekend!

Wedding: Reception

Good morning & happy Thursday!

I'd like to start off with a big ole WOOO HOOO!!!
I'm so thankful for all of you!
I'm extremely flattered to boot!
Thank you for finding me interesting and loving this here little blog.
I'm still not the greatest at all this writing, but I try, and appreciate the support!
I know it's not supposed to be about the numbers, and it's not, but it's a good feeling seeing it and I couldn't keep this blog up without you!

When we first started planning for our wedding I knew that it would be a good idea for us to check out the hotels in the area for our reception venue since we were planning on having a good bit of people from out of town coming.

Kev had been to a friends wedding at the Renaissance before and suggested that I put on that on the list of "places to check out" because he loved it!
Hell, if he loved it I knew it was worth checking out because what guy really pays attention to that kind of stuff if it isn't good?!
Am I right?

Well we checked out the Renaissance Downtown Columbus, and it was instant love!
Being the type of person I am I had to check out a few more options, just to be sure, but once I had gone to the Renaissance nothing compared in my mind.

The whole experience with them was easy. We even had the event planner we started with, Nicole, leave, and transitioned to a new one, Alison. Funny part, I had already met Alison at the Hyatt one of the other hotels we looked at! The move was flawless believe it or not! Both event planners were amazing, patient, and always found our answers for us in a timely manner. They worked with us, we got great room deals, were able to negotiate some points, and they even gave us some great suggestions.

They did even better the night of. The food was incredible! The staff (event and wait) were so nice, and helpful. They were extremely attentive to Kev and I. It felt like whenever I looked around there was someone close by to get anything we needed...even safety pins at one point!

I'd like to add that I had a wedding planner Kate that made everything so amazingly easy! I'll talk about her in the details part! Even funnier than the funny part, Alison was the event planner for Kate's wedding since Kate got married at the Hyatt.
Small world peeps.

Columbus brides-to-be I highly suggest you give the Renaissance a look. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Kev's mom and grandma made us an awesome wedding card.

One really nice thing we had is a board room for us and the bridal party to hang out in and eat some before we were announced. As much as I loved seeing everyone it was nice to have a little break. Take a breather if you will.

Again, I'm skipping some of the reception as I plan to do posts about the different aspects.
This one is going to be mainly about the people that were there celebrating us.
Our support system. Our backbone. Our family. Our friends.

My cousin Joe gave the blessing.
He is an excellent speaker and gave a very touching speech.
Joe has been one of my closest cousins growing up so it was really an honor to have him do that for us.

Clearly Kevin wanted some of that cake!
I was really nervous he was going to smash the cake on me, but he didn't :)
He did give me the biggest bite of all time though lol.
I'll give you all a better look at the cake in the deets post ;)

Laughing at the look on my face from the oversized bite!

This series is probably some of my favorite pictures.
I love looking at everyone's faces, and little Alaina in there! lol.
Jenn (check out her blog) in the gray dress ended up catching it!

Good catch Brian!

I loved that everyone...and I do mean everyone...was up dancing!

I didn't get to do a ton of dancing because 1) I wanted to get to talk to as many people as possible. How often is it that you have everyone you love in a room with you?!  2) I did not feel good all night. That's right I was sick at my wedding. Ok, not the ceremony but the reception.
I think it was all the stress and nerves kind of hitting me.
However, I had a great time and wouldn't have changed anything for the world.

Our wedding day was also Tavie's birthday!
She is awesome and I was so happy to have them there to share our and her special day together!
Even more funny then the funnier part. Alison the event planner went to college with Tavie and Edd's son! She knew them and was so excited to see them!
For real, how small can this world get?!

Sister-in-laws booging down ;)
Do you love the woman in red!
She is a good friend of Lynn's, and I believe it her and her husband anniversary!?
Let me tell you what folks, she had some moves!

It was so great all my hometown friends got to join too!
I wouldn't be who I am without them!

Don't Stop! Believin!
My favorite :)

As I look at all of these pictures I get emotional.
This was such an amazing day.
The food, the music, the atmosphere.
Everything. Was. Perfect!

Ya know what was even better?
Having so many people there supporting Kev and I, and having so much fun!
It really can't get any better, or loving, than that.
Kevin and I are so lucky to have so many wonderful people in our lives.

Come back over the next few Thursday's to check out more of the Renaissance in the Bridal Party post, and the Bride & Groom post, and the deets post (especially all you cbus brides-to-be, they have some great spaces for pictures!)

Happy Thursday

Whale bottle opener from Anthro.
How cute is that?

Lol. I know it's not even remotely close to Valentine's Day, but this is funny.
<3 Harry Potter.

A few months ago I got a massage by someone who was into pressure points.
I have never felt so good after a massage, so I think I'm going to have to try some of these points to see if they help.

So...who's ready for the Olympics?
I am Brendan Hansen, I am!

Like most people I am all about fruit during the summer.
I really can't get enough.
This looks like an amazing tart.
Maybe for the next party?

A dog birchbox?

We are going to stick with the dog & animal theme I think this week :)

First, a quote for quotable Tuesday!

So you all know how I'm all about the discount sites.
And of course you all know I love animals. Especially my dog, Gunner.
Well a few weeks ago I ran across this deal for the pupster on Fab.com - $25 off of BarkBox.com.
 BarkBox?!
Color me intrigued.
I go and check out the site, decide it's legit, and swipe the coupon.
Boy, could I...well Gunner...be any happier that I found that deal.

I know there as many of you out there with fur babies and like to spoil them as much as I do.
Let's be real, Gunner is more spoiled than some kids I know.
BarkBox could be well worth it for that little pampered pooch of yours.
It's exactly what you are thinking.
The BirchBox of dogs!
Each month you will get new items in the box for you pooch, or feline.
See that cat people, you can get this too!
Currently they are basing the boxes off of your animals weight...
So pretty much small, medium, and large.

This was Gunner's first box.
What did he get?

It's actually funny I got this because I bought one on my own...from Fab.com. Clearly I like the sight. Let me tell ya, I love it!
Soggy Paws is a towel that makes wiping the dogs feet down easier.
The towel is made of terry cloth but it's not as fuzzy as what our towels would be. It's a bit more "rough" so you can get the water or dirt off and out of the dog hair.
You just insert your hands into the pockets at each end and viola instant dog dryer :)
They even have a Soggy Dog so you can wipe the whole dog down.

These are grain free, vitamin packed, and antioxidant rich doggy treat.
Easy enough.
Gunner loves peanut butter...these could be a new favorite!
I actually checked out Tumbleweed & Eddie's site.
It's awesome :)
All their ingredients are human grade!

It's exactly what it says it is.
It's an all natural freeze dried...puck...of food.
These freeze dried foods are actually considered a "raw diet" food for your dog.
A raw diet improves the appetite, digestion, stamina, and vitality of your dog.
We even got a coupon to get ourselves some more.

 A popsicle for puppies!
You just pop this little guy into the freezer for a couple hours, and then feed it to your pup for a refreshing summer treat.

It's a durable, rubber dog toy.
Very similar to the Kong
The toy is food-grade silicon, and is freezer, oven, and dishwasher safe!
They even have recipes for you to make  treats right inside the toy!
No more mess just so Gunner can have a treat! YES!

Overall I'm satisfied with the box of goodies...and so is Gunner!
I'll be getting 5 more months of these suckers so you'll have to come back and check out what Gunner gets next.

Do you think you'll get a BarkBox for your furry friend?

Happy Tuesday!

Weekend: Running with the Pack

Good morning and Happy Monday (if there is such a thing).

I. Unfortunately. Have a lot to do today, but I wanted to give you a recap of what Danielle and I did this last Saturday. Mainly because it was a lot of fun, and I know many of you out there are animals lovers just like us :)

About a week or so ago Danielle and I went to an event at Park St. Patio that was showcases places you could volunteer around Columbus.
We both knew we wanted to find an animal shelter, and within minutes (ok, that's a lie it look us like 20 mins to stand in line to get a beer...it was free alright, I would have stood there for awhile) we had found the Pets without Parents organization.
We quickly signed up and happened to notice a little flier regarding the run.

Of course we knew we were going to do it.
Danielle got us registered and before we knew it it was Saturday morning.

We got ourselves and the pups ready and we were off.

I'm not going to lie I was a little nervous about how Gunner would do.
Not around other dogs, oh no, he loves other dogs, but with the walk itself.
He seems to get hot and winded quickly.
We keep him very active so I'm not sure if it's because of his breed or what.

Anyways, I'll let the pictures do the talking from here :)
 Pup tent city (pun intended).

Danielle got a little goodie bag.
Said goodie bag had a treat in it.
Guess who had the most best friends at the dog park?

Team Han-Gun.
Clearly we love our pups a whole lot.
I probably have more pictures of Gunner than anything else.
Crazy dog lady? Maybe...

 Getting ready to start.

And we're off.
The 5K run & walk happen at the same time.
It was great to see so many people and dogs out there.

Of course other than helping puppers out my favorite part of the walk was the actual route.
At first it didn't seem like anything to major but then we came up around this lake.

We went into this wooded area...

and boom.
We got this view.

I love this city.
This is probably one of the best views I've ever had of this city!

Gunner was keeping up just fine.

Hannah and Gunner finishing their first 5K (pic compliments of Danielle).
I think Danielle and I were just as relieved as the pups were.
It was so hot outside.

So proud of our pups.

Needless to say someone was very tired the next day.
Nose deep in cuddles :)

This was probably one of my favorite volunteering things I've ever done.
Being the animal lover that I am it was great to see so many people, and dogs for that matter out supporting the no-kill shelter.
We knew our money was going to a good place, and both of us are very excited to continue volunteering with Pets without Parents.
If anyone is interesting in what they are about check out their website here: Pets without Parents.

I'd also like to add that if you are in the Columbus area you need to check out this park.
It's called the Scioto Audubon Metro Park
There are all kinds of things to do out there, and as you saw the walking paths are awesome.
There is a dog park, a rock climbing wall (the husbands are realllly into that right now, there is a good chance you'll see them if you go out there lol), volleyball courts, and a playground.

Happy Monday
